Post Marathon

The week after the marathon was full of relaxation and not running. I wasn't terribly sore, but I was a little tired and decided that I deserved a break. Everyone I told agreed with that!

I went to yoga and did some walks. I did go for a three mile run on Thursday, and might have on Saturday too but we were camping. It was nice to not have to pack the running gear and wonder if I was going to follow through with using it! We went to the Muscoda Morel festival and I walked 8.45 miles that day.

This week (the second week after the marathon) I'm working on resuming normal activity. I have to raise my daily mileage to 6.0 miles per day in order to make it to 2,022 miles for the year, so I'm focusing on going for at least one or two walks a day, plus getting back into running. My current average is 4.77 miles per day.

I also went back to HIIT class. I was more sore after that than after the marathon! HIIT included flipping over a tractor tire. Repeatedly.
