Half Marathon Training: Weeks 3-5

Week 3

Total miles: 8.4

Long run: 5.1 miles

Week 4

Nothing, was on vacation. But I walked a total of 37 miles including a couple of hikes through steep terrain.

Week 5

Total miles: 11.94

Long run: 6.1 miles

As I expected, my half marathon training has been off to a very disorganized start. I've prioritized doing a long run and trying to get at least one additional run each week, in additional to yoga and HIIT.

I'm still of the belief that I am physically capable of running the 13.1 miles on race day, with the main variable being how miserable I'll be. There's still time to make sure that I'm not miserable, but that window is closing rapidly.

My goal this week is to rewrite my training plan to focus on building miles consistently. Since my previous training plan was focused on speed and I'm no longer committing to that goal, I need to adjust the runs to focus on distance rather than hill repeats and track workouts.
